Greetings,
Our Ruckus ICX developers have an updated FI 08.0.80f (GA) which I’ve posted to
Support at the links below. Lost ACLs if upgrading between images is the main fix
but please read the Release Notes carefully.

New to ZDs and PoE. Have both of these items on order and just selecting APs to complete my network upgrade project. I’m just wondering whether the ZD will somehow control the Switch’s power budget or whether that can be done elsewhere? Certain ZoneFlex APs draw more power with a regular Power Supply. Is it therefore better just to plug them in to a power socket where you can? Many thanks.

An update of a previous question that didn’t get an answer to…Have bought a new ZD1200 and also a new PoE switch ICX-7150 12P compact (power budget 124w), to sit alongside a passive 24 port switch. Now trying to select the right Ruckus Access Points for my network upgrade project. The APs won’t be wall or ceiling mounted, but will sit hidden away where convenient and discreet (under desks, on desks/shelves etc) as my office and my wife’s office is also our home. There is no possibility of rewiring. I know that the ZoneFlex APs were not designed as tabletop APs, but will they work OK like this? There really is no option to ceiling or wall mount in my house. I also like the idea of an AP with at least one Ethernet output.I need the signal from two of my internal APs to reach as far as possible outside of the house to connect with external IP cams. One of these APs will be on a surface near a window (see below 1*) and one on a surface in an outbuilding (see below 2*). Right now I have Amped APs (each with three 25-30cm external antennae) that are able do the job, but don’t consistently hold their indoor clients. I am prepared to buy external Ruckus APs which accommodate external antennae and use inside the house if this is the only way to get a ZoneFlex with enough range, but it may be that a decent Zoneflex like a R720 will get me there anyway without an antenna. Apart from these two longer range APs, the others (probably 5-7 or so) can be lower budget (and lower power budget), but decent (R320/R520?). I will spend more on my long range solution if necessary.I prefer not to use have APs outside the house as I didn’t need these in my old network, but I will do if I absolutely have to, and then MESH with these. It’s a lot of work to wire these up outside and so I really hope to avoid this. Thanks in advance!! Please don’t respond suggesting ceiling or wall mounting as this won’t work with my wife!(1*) The AP by the window will be on the second floor, with external IP cams directionally diagonally below. For this reason I thought the R720 may stand upright on a surface by the window (and facing the window) to cover these IP cams. Will an R720 actually stand upright and be stable? (2*) Outbuilding is half above ground and half below ground. External IP cams are directionally diagonally above it which is why I think just sticking an R720 on a shelf may work.

I am new to ruckus switches and I have a deployment project in one of our customers datacenters involving 2*ICX7150-24-4X10GR-RMT3 & Nutanix servers and I have those below questions if any one could guide me I would be very grateful 1)for stacking between A/M models can I use one stack port or its a must to use at least 2 ports?2)if I should use 2 ports , can I use any type of twinax cable between the 2 switches as the PO include only one cable (10G-SFPP-TWX-P-0308) but fortunately I have other nutanix twinax cables (C-CBL-5M-SFP+-SFP+ -CM) so can I use them?3) can I use any port from 1/2/1- 1/2/2 (C1-C2) or 1/3/1 -1/3/4 (X1-X4) as a down link to nutanix server as from the installation guide I can see they are used as stacking or uplink ports so is this a restriction or just best practice? Thanks in advance

ICX7450 running 10.1.16T215, when I configure additional static routes they aren’t getting added to the routing table – so the destination is still just hitting the default route.Tried different AD / cost and prefix length from /20 all the way to /32 without a difference.Any ideas?

Hi there and thanks to those on this Forum who have helped me get this far with my Network Plan.I was recommended that only four R720 APs should be loaded onto my ICX7150-C12P switch due to power budget constraints, so I decided to order a second one.The ICX7150-C12P switch has C1 and C2, and X1 and X2 ports on the right. I see X1 and X2 are used for stacking. My question is, given my planned set up in pic attached, do I need to connect via X1 and X2 and stack? What would the advantage be? Would this enable me to better manage the power budget?A second absolute beginner’s question to PoE switches…what can C1 and C2 be used for in a normal set up? Can these be used as non-PoE Ethernet ports? Finally – am I doing anything stupid with my planned network set up per the diagram? Many thanks

Does Ruckus switches cache mac addresses for a certain time on the network? I was working with soemone the other day and they unplugged there computer from network but I could still see mac address on core switch.

After changing my modem/router, I am no longer able to connect to the Ruckus Unleashed Dashboard (unleashed.ruckuswireless.com)My wireless APs are still working though – most of my wireless devices were able to connect and obtain internet access.Would love some guidance on how to regain access to the unleashed dashboard – I read I could try connecting directly to an AP’s IP address via a web browser, although I tried connecting to a number of different IP addresses I can find associated with my new router and was unsuccessful. My current setup is:modem/router > ICX 7150-CP12 Switch > two R510 APsI am calling in from a Lennar home.

Hello,Want to somehow make icx module work from ansible, but running into a problem.I have a simple playbook just for testing (show ver) but it gives me an error:—- name: show ver hosts: all gather_facts: no connection: local vars: ansible_network_os: icx ansible_user: user ansible_become: True ansible_password: pass ansible_become_method: enable ansible_become_pass: pass ansible_command_timeout: 80 tasks: – name: show ver icx_command: commands: – show ver register: print_run – debug: var=print_run.stdout_linesthe error I’m running to:[WARNING]: Platform linux on host <IP> is using the discovered Python interpreter at /usr/bin/python, but future installation of anotherPython interpreter could change this. See https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/2.9/reference_appendices/interpreter_discovery.html for more information.looks like Ansible wants to run python inside the icx switch (?! why), but python is already there or something like that. Why is it the case? I just want to run commands over ssh.root@LTMIKE050:/etc/ansible/test-playbook# ansible –versionansible 2.9.6 config file = /etc/ansible/ansible.cfg configured module search path = [u’/root/.ansible/plugins/modules’, u’/usr/share/ansible/plugins/modules’] ansible python module location = /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/ansible executable location = /usr/bin/ansible python version = 2.7.16 (default, Oct 10 2019, 22:02:15) [GCC 8.3.0]I tried it with different software on icx 7150.Thank you.Nika

Hi there. I went through the steps in the quick set up guide to add a password and enable the web interface using Putty and telnet as I do not possess the necessary console lead. All was well and I got the web interface up and running with my chosen username and password. Unfortunately I closed the script box before adding a static IP as I assumed this could be done on the web-interface. However, it doesn’t seem possible to add the static IP on the web interface and now putty won’t connect me, presumably because I have added a username and password. To get a console lead is a mail order and a 2 week wait as I live overseas. Is there another fix? The online manual isn’t helpful as it seems to be for a router not this switch and there is different functionality for adding a static IP address.Or is this just putty being unreliable? Many thanks.
