Hi there. I went through the steps in the quick set up guide to add a password and enable the web interface using Putty and telnet as I do not possess the necessary console lead. All was well and I got the web interface up and running with my chosen username and password. Unfortunately I closed the script box before adding a static IP as I assumed this could be done on the web-interface. However, it doesn’t seem possible to add the static IP on the web interface and now putty won’t connect me, presumably because I have added a username and password. To get a console lead is a mail order and a 2 week wait as I live overseas. Is there another fix? The online manual isn’t helpful as it seems to be for a router not this switch and there is different functionality for adding a static IP address.Or is this just putty being unreliable? Many thanks.

I have 3 brand new Ruckus R710 deployed in an office of 25 users.I have a Netgear GS324PP powering them, and have used the same set up before but for some reason I’m seeing alerts on each WAP showing that it’s not getting enough power, but the requirements show that it only needs 25W to function. My switch is POE+ so it’s putting out 30W per port for them.Has anyone else had this issue before?

So I have this switch installed at my house as a part of like many here, Lennar installed it. Well the problem I am seeing on it is that all the lights in the RJ45 ports where all my cable devices are connected are off. I already update the device to the last version I think, through the web console. The devices connected through wire seems to be working fine but it is strange that suddenly all those lights are off. Anyone have a clue? Really appreciate the help of all the experts in here. Thanks

I need some help understanding what I do with a C12P switch (came with my Lennar home).I’d (ideally) like to set up VLANs for smart home use. However, I can’t run all cables to a single switch. I need to use two. Uplink ports:Can I use the “uplink” ports C1 and C2 as regular ports? Can “uplink” ports C1 and C2 be managed (assigned to VLANs, truck ports, etc)?SFP ports (10G, licensed):If I license two C12P switches so I can use SFP ports X1 and X2 to stack the switches, I would use port X1 on switch 1 to stack to port X2 on switch 2.Can I still use X2 on switch 1 as an uplink for a router/server/etc?Can license 10G SFP ports X1 and X2 be managed (assigned to VLANs, truck ports, etc)?SFP ports (1G, NOT licensed):Can I use the SFP ports as regular 10/100/1000 ports? Can unlicensed 1G SFP ports X1 and X2 be managed (assigned to VLANs, truck ports, etc).I know I don’t have a networking “need” to stack the switches, I just thought it would be easier than managing two separate switches and VLAN assignments. If I determine it’s cost prohibitive or I can’t accomplish what I want, I’ll use a trunk link.

My problems started when I failed to set the static IP address via Telnet, but I suspect this switch is just faulty.Videos are self explantory.1. No power to PoE AP. https://www.dropbox.com/s/n8zqbi5e8emomqb/IMG_5796.MOV?dl=02. Won’t factory reset. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ukz5zqgr3sjtar7/IMG_5798.MOV?dl=0I don’t have a console lead and the Switch wont allow me to Telnet back into the switch. If there’s a quick fix please let me know. If the switch is toast then that’s a little disappointing as it’s brand new and it should be working. The second identical switch which I bought with this is working fine.

I have lived in the same three-story house for 12 years which doubles as my home office and my wife’s permanent office. It’s a building totally over-engineered from concrete. Inside the concrete we have re-bars and so every room is almost like a Faraday cage. I had been placing my legacy APs by windows with huge antennae to reach outdoor IP cams.My wifi has been terrible for these whole 12 years. I had a Cisco small business wireless router (which actually was one of my few reliable network components) and all manner of supposedly top of the range home use wired access points – Amped, Linksys, and Asus. I ended up with one wireless router plus 6 access points and still constant dropped connections and black spots, plus a total inability to roam between zones. On the general forums it didn’t take long to be recommended Ruckus APs and a zone director. and I have been asking a whole bunch of novice questions here on the Ruckus Forum as I have selected and implemented my new set up. Having got so much help, I thought it only fair to report back.I ended up buying two ICX 7150 C12 PoE switches, a ZD1200, and five R720s.Now it’s all up and running, my WiFi is unbelievably good. strong signal everywhere, no more drop out during important operations such as internet chess! The R720s also have just as good range as my legacy APs with the huge antennae. Absolutely delighted with the results, except for one rogue IP cam that keeps sticking to the wrong AP (and I’m guessing the fix is probably to buy a new IP cam).Although the R720s might seem overspecified, they were fairly well priced on eBay/Amazon at around $400 each, and not a lot more expensive than say R700s. I thought installing the R720s would be phase 1 and there would be some black spots to deal with, but the range is really awesome from these things and I’m all done with 5 APs (versus 7 wireless sources previously). It’s a great product. Really. The only gripe I have is that I was denied free support as I was told I had breached my warranty by buying off eBay. Had I known upfront, I would have used Amazon as the R720s were on sale and only $10 more there (although who knows the supplier there may not have been an authorized reseller). I was asked for a whole bunch of information, including all serial numbers before Ruckus told me about the eBay issue. As a consumer, it doesn’t feel quite fair to be told by a supplier such as Ruckus that you haven’t got a warranty as you didn’t buy the product from one of their authorized suppliers, as I’m guessing few of us home users would go to the trouble of checking who is and who is not authorized before we buy. The other suggestions I have made here are that the web interface on the ZD1200 includes a facility to label your clients which would be handy if like me you have a whole bunch of IP cams around the place. Also, if we could disable clients by AP from the ZD this would help deal with the problem of a client clinging to the wrong AP (I only have this problem with one cam). The other suggestion would be that users can set up ICX switches without needing to use CLI – these days you should be able to do this from a web interface.Overall a great product and I’ll probably be a loyal customer for life. It’s actually well worthwhile installing commercial-grade network equipment for home/office use as it just works so much better.

I have successfully update the firmware of my Ruckus ICX7250-24 switch to the latest version. But now i have another problem.I have also another Ruckus switch (ICX7250-24P) which I used this one as a stack with the previous Ruckus switch (ICX7250-24).The problem is that I am trying to upgrade the second switch but with no success. I have the following message “TFTP to Flash Error – code 5”.I have read that this is a time out issue but I don’t believe it`s a problem from TFTP Server.I have to mention the below. When i took my switch out of the box, I had two images (SPS08030h.bin primary and SPR08030.h secondary) but now I have two same images (SPR08030h.bin).

I have an ICX 7150-C12P and an r510 AP. After a power outage, the r510 is no longer receiving power via the PoE connection. On the ICX 7150, the ethernet port shows a steady (sometime twitchy) amber light. All of the 12 RJ-45 Ports have the same issue as I move the ethernet cable.

I have some switches I’m disposing of, and the file startup-config.legacy is sitting on the flash with no way to delete it. The CLI only lets me remove boot images or specifically startup-config, but not this file. Any clever ideas here? I can’t find any way to delete it from boot monitor either, the closest I have is this:ICX64XX-boot>> sflash erase startup-config.legacyUsage:sflash – read, write or erase the external SPI Flash. But I’m not even sure that’s the correct command, even if I could guess the syntax.

I have a new Lennar home with a Ruckus switch icx 7150-c12p, which is then hardwired to 2 different R510 APs. My ISP is Spectrum and I am using the Spectrum router. Our neighborhood had a power outage and since then I have been unable to locate my Ruckus WiFi network. I still have WiFi access via the Spectrum router and internet access by directly connecting to an Ethernet port through the Ruckus system. When I try to connect via the app it says “you are not connected to unleashed network.”
I contacted Lennar and they sent someone from Smart System Technologies (SST) as they are supposedly the ones that install in these homes. All the guy did was do a power recycle and verify all the connections were working but he was unable to fix the issue. He said the APs are connected and should be working but he couldn’t figure out why he couldn’t locate the network. He was thinking the switch malfunctioned after the power outage and is sending someone else to replace it.
Is it a bad idea to attempt a factory reset? Any other suggestions? Appreciate any feedback.

I just moved into a home with a Ruckus ICX 7150-C12P and a R510 Access Point. It was setup for the previous homeowner by Amazon. Because of COVID-19, Amazon isn’t setting up any smart homes at the moment and have actually closed down even their telephone support line. I would love to be able to take advantage of the smart home options in the house, but I am nervous to do it without setting it up from scratch. I want to be able to make sure everything is password protected and the previous owner is unable to access my network. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You!
