Which ICX do I need?
Access closet, 1 GbE to the desk: ICX 7150 or ICX 7250. Pick PoE+ if the ports feed phones, cameras or access points, and pick the 4 x 10 GbE uplink variant if the closet stacks or uplinks at 10 GbE. The compact 7150 C-series runs fanless for rooms with no closet.
Wi-Fi 6 access points that need more than 1 GbE: ICX 7150-48ZP, ICX 7550 ZP or ICX 7650 ZP. These carry the multigigabit PoH and PoE ports that a Wi-Fi 6 access point can actually use.
Modular access with 40 GbE uplinks or an IPsec module: ICX 7450.
Aggregation and core: ICX 7750 for 10 GbE and 40 GbE density with a modular slot, ICX 7850 for line-rate 1/10 GbE SFP+ across every port.
Extending an older stack: ICX 6450 and ICX 6430 so the new unit matches what is already in the rack.

Refurbished units are sold from our own inventory, and a refurbished ICX 7450 or 7750 is often the fastest way to add a switch that matches an existing stack after the model has gone end-of-sale. Ruckus ICX switches: frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Ruckus ICX and Brocade ICX switches?
They are the same product line under two badges. Brocade built the ICX family, Ruckus took it on, and CommScope now owns Ruckus. A Brocade-badged ICX 7450-48P and a Ruckus-badged ICX 7450-48P are the same switch. IO South stocks both badges in the same categories, so search by part number rather than by brand name.
Which Ruckus ICX switch supports multigigabit PoE for Wi-Fi 6 access points?
The ICX 7150-48ZP Z-Series carries 16 multigigabit PoH ports at 100/1000 Mbps and 2.5 Gbps alongside 32 PoE+ ports and 8 x 10 GbE SFP+ uplinks. The ICX 7550 and ICX 7650 ZP models are the midrange and higher-end options built for the multigigabit wireless era. Send us the access point model and count and we will match the switch.
Does the ICX 7150 have 10 GbE uplinks?
Yes, on the right variant. The ICX 7150 24 and 48 port models come with 2 x 1 GbE RJ45 uplinks plus either 2 x 10 GbE SFP+ stacking and uplink ports (the 2X10G suffix) or 4 x 10 GbE SFP+ (the 4X10GR suffix). The 4X1G models ship with 1 GbE SFP uplinks that upgrade to 10 GbE with a license.
Can I upgrade an ICX 7250 to 10 GbE uplinks?
Yes. The ICX 7250 ships with 8 x 1 GbE SFP uplink and stacking ports, or 6 x 1 GbE SFP plus 2 x 10 GbE SFP+ on the 2X10G models, and upgrades to 8 x 10 GbE SFP+ with the ICX7250-8X10G-LIC-POD license, which IO South stocks. The one exception is the ICX7250-24G, which the license does not cover.
What do the -E, -E2 and RMT3 suffixes on ICX part numbers mean?
They describe the bundle. -E and -E2 bundles include the power supply and fan units, for example the ICX 7450 48-port PoE+ bundle with 4 x 10 GbE SFP+ uplinks, 2 x 40 GbE QSFP+ uplinks and a 1,000 W AC power supply. RMT3 denotes a rack-mount bundle. A bare part number such as ICX7750-48C ships with no power supplies or fan units, which are ordered separately.
