Sell Used Supermicro HGX H100 Servers (SYS-821GE-TNHR, AS-8125GS-TNHR and 4U/8U GPU SuperServers) to IO South

IO South buys used and surplus Supermicro HGX H100 servers from businesses across the United States and worldwide: complete 8-GPU SYS-821GE-TNHR and AS-8125GS-TNHR systems, 4U liquid-cooled and PCIe GPU SuperServers, loose HGX H100 baseboards, and the host systems with the GPUs removed. Supermicro built a large share of the H100 systems in service today, so there is a steady resale market for them, and we price against it.

How selling your Supermicro H100 servers to IO South works

  • Send your list. Exact model and GPU configuration (SYS-821GE-TNHR, AS-8125GS-TNHR, 4U HGX or PCIe), quantity, condition, and where the hardware sits: your data center, a colocation facility, or storage. Call 855-272-5044 or email info@iosouth.com.
  • A fair-market offer at no cost, usually within one business day. We buy and resell GPU servers every week, so the offer is priced against real resale value, not a formula.
  • One offer, one pickup. A single server, a rack, or a decommissioned cluster is the same conversation.
  • We handle logistics. We send a rep to palletize and wrap, arrange freight pickup, and pay for shipping. Evaluation, logistics, freight and payment are handled in house.
  • Your data stays yours. Drives are wiped or destroyed before anything is resold, or returned to you if your policy requires it.
  • United States and worldwide. We buy from businesses across the US and from data centers overseas.

Supermicro H100 systems we buy

  • SYS-821GE-TNHR: 8U GPU SuperServer, dual Intel Xeon Scalable platform, eight NVIDIA H100 SXM5 GPUs on an HGX H100 baseboard, air cooled.
  • AS-8125GS-TNHR: 8U GPU A+ Server, dual AMD EPYC platform, eight NVIDIA H100 SXM5 GPUs on an HGX H100 baseboard, air cooled.
  • SYS-421GE-TNHR2-LCC: 4U liquid-cooled GPU SuperServer, dual Intel Xeon Scalable platform, HGX H100 8-GPU configuration with direct liquid cooling.
  • SYS-741GE-TNRT: 4U tower or rack GPU system, dual Intel Xeon Scalable platform, PCIe GPU slots for H100 PCIe and NVL cards.
  • AS-4125GS-TNRT: 4U GPU A+ Server, dual AMD EPYC platform, PCIe GPU slots for H100 PCIe and NVL cards.
  • Loose HGX H100 baseboards and H100 SXM5 modules pulled from any of the above.
  • Host systems with the GPUs removed, and mixed lots that include switches, storage and racks from the same decommission.

If your model is not in this list, send it anyway. Supermicro ships many configurations of the same platform under different part numbers, and the GPU count, cooling and CPU generation tell us what we need.

What to send for a quote

  • The exact model number and how many systems.
  • GPU count and form factor (SXM5 HGX baseboard or PCIe cards), and whether the GPUs are still installed.
  • CPU, memory and storage configuration, as shipped or as it runs today.
  • Condition, and approximate hours or in-service date if you know them.
  • Whether the systems are still racked and powered, and the location, including any colocation facility.
  • Photos of the front, rear and service tags, and an nvidia-smi or diagnostics export if you can pull one.
  • Before handoff: reset BMC and IPMI passwords and any BIOS passwords so the systems can be tested on arrival.

Loose HGX H100 baseboards vs complete systems

Complete, working systems resell fastest. A SYS-821GE-TNHR that powers on with all eight GPUs recognized can go to the next owner as is, which is why a full system usually earns a stronger offer than the same parts sold separately. Loose HGX H100 baseboards and individual SXM5 modules still sell, but they need a compatible host on the other side, so the buyer pool is narrower. If you can leave the systems intact until pickup, do. If the GPUs have already been pulled, tell us what is loose and what is still in a chassis, and we quote both.

Why used Supermicro H100 systems still move

Most of the H100 capacity built in 2023 and 2024 went into Supermicro chassis, because Supermicro shipped HGX H100 systems in volume and in both Intel and AMD versions. That installed base is what the secondary market runs on today: teams that cannot get or do not want to wait for newer systems buy a working SYS-821GE-TNHR because it drops into a standard rack with standard power and cooling, and the software stack is already proven on it. Each new NVIDIA generation moves the used market for the one before it, so a complete, tested H100 system is worth more to a buyer now than the same system will be after the next refresh wave. The practical advice is simple: if a refresh is already decided, get the list to us while the systems are still racked and powered.

Sellers also ask whether the AMD or the Intel version matters. Both resell. The AS-8125GS-TNHR and the SYS-821GE-TNHR carry the same eight H100 SXM5 GPUs on the same HGX baseboard, so the GPU value is identical and the host platform mostly changes which buyer takes it.

Where we buy

Data centers, colocation facilities, research labs and offices across the United States, and overseas sites that are refreshing to newer systems. A decommission is a project, not a pickup: we plan the sequence, label and palletize on site, arrange freight, and keep a record of what left the building. IO South has offices in Marietta, Georgia and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Why sell your Supermicro H100 servers to IO South

IO South is an established enterprise IT hardware company that buys and resells servers, networking equipment and data center GPUs every day. We know what a used SYS-821GE-TNHR or AS-8125GS-TNHR resells for this week because we are selling them, which lets us make a real offer quickly and stand behind it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you buy a single Supermicro H100 server?

Yes. One SYS-821GE-TNHR or AS-8125GS-TNHR is a normal purchase, and so is a full row of them. Quantity affects the offer, not whether we make one.

My Supermicro H100 systems are in a colocation facility. Can you still buy them?

Yes. Tell us the site and whether the systems are still racked and powered. We coordinate the pickup with the facility, send a rep to palletize and wrap, and arrange the freight.

Do you buy Supermicro H100 servers from outside the United States?

Yes. IO South buys from businesses across the United States and from data centers worldwide. Send the location with your list and we include the freight and import handling in the plan.

The drives were already pulled. Does that matter?

No. Many sellers keep or destroy their drives under their own policy. Tell us the systems ship diskless and the offer reflects that. If the drives are still installed, we wipe or destroy them before resale, or return them to you.

Do you also buy Supermicro H200 and A100 systems?

Yes. The same process covers HGX H200 systems and the earlier HGX A100 4-GPU and 8-GPU SuperServers. See sell used NVIDIA H200 GPUs and sell used NVIDIA A100 GPUs, or send a mixed list in one message.

How fast do I get an offer?

Usually within one business day of receiving your list. Complete model numbers, GPU counts and photos make it faster.

Will you buy the host system without the GPUs?

Yes. A SYS-821GE-TNHR or AS-8125GS-TNHR chassis with the HGX baseboard removed still has a buyer, and so does a loose HGX H100 baseboard without a host. Tell us exactly what is included and the offer covers that configuration.

Do you also sell Supermicro GPU servers?

Yes. IO South sells tested used and new Supermicro GPU systems, including the GPU SuperServer SYS-821GE-TNHR and the GPU A+ Server AS-8125GS-TNHR. Browse the Supermicro category for current stock.
