How selling your HPE Aruba switches to IO South works

  • Send your list. J or JL part numbers from the labels, quantity, condition, and where the equipment sits. Call 855-272-5044 or email info@iosouth.com.
  • A fair-market offer at no cost, usually within one business day. We buy and resell this equipment every week, so the offer is priced against real resale value, not a formula.
  • One offer, one pickup. A single unit, a closet full, or a multi-site decommission is the same conversation.
  • We handle logistics. We send a rep to palletize and wrap, arrange freight pickup, and pay for shipping. Evaluation, logistics, freight and payment are handled in house.
  • Your configurations stay yours. Every unit is factory reset and any stored configuration, log or key material is wiped or destroyed before resale, or the unit is returned to you if your policy requires it.
  • United States and worldwide. We buy from businesses across the US and from sites overseas.

HPE Aruba switches we buy

  • Aruba CX 6000 series: CX 6100, 6200F, 6300F and 6300M access and aggregation switches, and the CX 6400 modular chassis with its line cards and management modules. The 6300M in its 24 and 48 port 1GbE and Smart Rate versions is a regular request. Dedicated page: sell used Aruba CX 6300 and 6400 switches.
  • Aruba CX 8000 series: CX 8320, 8325 and 8360 data center and core switches, and the CX 8400 chassis.
  • Aruba 2930F, 2930M and 3810M: the mainstream campus access and aggregation switches of the last several years, in PoE+ and SFP+ versions, including the 3810M 24SFP+ and the 2930M with stacking modules.
  • Aruba 2530 and 2540: the layer 2 access switches that came out of branch closets and classrooms by the hundred, from 8 port PoE+ units to 48 port models.
  • Aruba 5400R zl2 chassis: the 5406R and 5412R with v3 zl2 modules, management modules and power supplies, complete or as loose modules. We stock and sell the Aruba 5406R zl2 JL003A, so we know this chassis well.
  • HP ProCurve and older HP switches: the 2510, 2530, 2810, 2910al, 2920 and 5400zl families, including the fiber models that buyers still ask for.
  • Aruba Instant On and HP small business switches from smaller offices and retail sites.
  • Aruba wireless: AP-3xx, AP-5xx and AP-6xx access points, Instant APs, the older AP-2xx units, and Mobility Controllers such as the 7000 series.
  • Everything around them: HPE and Aruba SFP, SFP+ and SFP56 transceivers, stacking modules and cables, redundant power supplies, fan trays and rack kits.

What to send for a quote

  • The J or JL part number from the label, for example JL003A, JL430A or JL664A, and how many of each.
  • For chassis switches, the installed modules, management cards and power supplies, by part number.
  • Condition, and whether the switches are still in service or already decommissioned.
  • What is included: power supplies and cords, transceivers, stacking modules and cables, rack ears, original boxes.
  • Whether the switches are managed through Aruba Central or AirWave, so we can tell you what to remove before handoff.
  • The location or locations, and whether any site is a data center or colocation facility that controls access.
  • Photos of the front, rear and labels. An export from Aruba Central, AirWave or your asset system is ideal.

Why used HPE Aruba hardware still moves

HPE Aruba is a standard in schools, universities, hospitals, local government and corporate campuses, and those organizations tend to run one vendor across every closet. When a building is added, a switch fails or a project needs forty more ports, a tested used 2930F or 6300M that matches the rest of the network is what they look for first. The same is true of the 5400R zl2 chassis, where a spare management module or line card can keep a core switch in service for years. That steady demand is why a refresh from ProCurve to Aruba, or from Aruba 2930 to Aruba CX, leaves hardware with real value behind.

Buyers also search for specific models and port counts, fiber versions and PoE budgets, so an exact part number list is worth more to us than a count of boxes.

Decommissioning a campus network

A campus refresh happens closet by closet over weeks or a summer. The sequence that works: finish the cutover for a building, remove the retired switches from Aruba Central or AirWave, box each unit with its power supply and transceivers, and send us the list by building. We can consolidate to one location or arrange pickups from several sites, label everything by origin, and keep the record your asset register needs. Chassis switches travel best with their modules installed, so leave them populated if you can.

Where we buy

Corporate offices, branch networks, schools and universities, hospitals, data centers, colocation facilities and managed service providers across the United States, and overseas sites that are refreshing to newer platforms. A multi-site network refresh is a project, not a pickup: we plan the sequence, label and palletize on site, arrange freight, and keep a record of what left each building. IO South has offices in Marietta, Georgia and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you buy a single Aruba switch?

Yes. One switch is a normal purchase, and so is a campus full of them. Quantity affects the offer, not whether we make one.

Do you buy Aruba 5400R zl2 chassis with the modules installed?

Yes, and we prefer them that way. A 5406R or 5412R with its management modules, line cards and power supplies installed is a complete system to the next buyer. If modules are loose, list them separately with their J or JL part numbers.

Do you buy older HP ProCurve switches?

Yes. ProCurve 2510, 2530, 2810, 2910al, 2920 and 5400zl units still sell to buyers who maintain older campus networks and need matching spares. Fiber ProCurve models are asked for regularly.

What about Aruba Instant On and the small business lines?

Yes. Aruba Instant On switches and access points, and the HP small business switches that came before them, are all bought. They are usually smaller lots, and that is fine.

Do you buy Aruba access points and Mobility Controllers?

Yes. Aruba AP-3xx, AP-5xx and AP-6xx access points, the older AP-2xx units, Instant APs and Mobility Controllers such as the 7000 series are all bought. Send the model numbers and whether the APs are controller-managed or Instant.

My switches are deployed across several buildings. Can you still buy them?

Yes. Tell us the sites and rough counts. We can consolidate to one location you choose or arrange pickups from several sites, label by building, and keep a record of what left each one.

Do you buy HPE Aruba equipment from outside the United States?

Yes. IO South buys from businesses across the United States and from sites worldwide. Send the location with your list and we include freight and import handling in the plan.

What happens to the configurations on the switches?

Every switch, access point and controller is factory reset and any stored configuration is wiped before resale. If your policy requires it, we return the units or document the reset for your records. Remove the switches from Aruba Central before handoff if they were cloud managed.

How fast do I get an offer?

Usually within one business day of receiving your list. J and JL part numbers, quantities and photos of the labels make it faster.

Do you also sell HPE Aruba switches?

Yes. IO South sells tested used and new HPE Aruba and ProCurve switches, including the Aruba 5406R zl2 JL003A. Browse the HP switches category and the Aruba category and the HP campus LAN category for current stock.
