Sell Used Cisco Nexus 9300 Series Switches (93180YC, 9336C, 93360YC) to IO South

IO South buys used Cisco Nexus 9300 series switches from businesses across the United States and worldwide: the 93180YC, 93240YC, 9336C and 93360YC fixed switches that make up the leaf layer of most Cisco data center fabrics, and the earlier 9372, 9396 and 93120 units that preceded them. Nexus 9300 switches come to us when a company refreshes a fabric, consolidates data centers, or moves workloads to the cloud. We are the buyer, not a broker. We resell Nexus switches every week, so we know what a 93180YC-FX is worth right now and can make a real offer quickly.

How selling your Nexus 9300 switches to IO South works

  • Send your list. Exact model from the label (N9K-C93180YC-FX, N9K-C9336C-FX2), optics included, ACI or NX-OS mode, quantity, condition, and where the hardware sits: your data center, a colocation facility, an office or storage. Call 855-272-5044 or email info@iosouth.com.
  • A fair-market offer at no cost, usually within one business day. We buy and resell Cisco Nexus switches every week, so the offer is priced against real resale value, not a depreciation table.
  • One offer, one pickup. A single unit, a rack, or a full decommission is the same conversation.
  • We handle logistics. We send a rep to palletize and wrap, arrange freight pickup, and pay for shipping. Evaluation, logistics, freight and payment are handled in house.
  • Your data stays yours. Configurations are wiped and drives are wiped or destroyed before anything is resold, or returned to you if your policy requires it.
  • United States and worldwide. We buy from businesses across the US and from data centers overseas.

Nexus 9300 switches we buy

  • 93180YC-FX and 93180YC-FX3: the 48 port 10 and 25 gigabit SFP28 leaf with 6 ports of 40 and 100 gigabit QSFP28 uplink. The most common Nexus 9300 in production, and the one we buy the most of.
  • 93108TC-FX and 93108TC-FX3: the 48 port 10GBASE-T copper version of the same leaf.
  • 93240YC-FX2: 48 ports of 10 and 25 gigabit with 12 ports of 100 gigabit uplink, in a 1.2 rack-unit form factor.
  • 9336C-FX2: the 36 port 40 and 100 gigabit switch used as a spine or a high-density leaf.
  • 93360YC-FX2: 96 ports of 10 and 25 gigabit with 12 ports of 100 gigabit, in 2 rack units.
  • 93216TC-FX2 and 93600CD-GX and the GX series: the higher-density copper and 400 gigabit capable units.
  • First-generation 9300: the 9372PX and 9372TX, 9396PX and 9396TX, 93120TX and 93128TX, and the 9396 uplink modules. Resale value depends on condition and on how much support life remains, so send the exact model and we will say plainly what the offer looks like.
  • Nexus 9500 chassis and modules from the same fabric go on the same list. See sell used Cisco Nexus 9000 switches for the modular line.

ACI mode and NX-OS mode

Nexus 9300 switches run either as part of a Cisco ACI fabric under APIC controllers or as standalone switches under NX-OS. We buy both. The hardware is the same, and we reset every switch to factory defaults on arrival, which clears the configuration, the fabric membership and the credentials. Tell us which mode your switches ran in so we can describe them correctly to the next owner. If you are decommissioning an ACI fabric, the APIC controllers (which are UCS C-series servers) can go on the same list.

Optics, fans and power supplies

A Nexus 9300 is worth more complete. Leave the QSFP28 and SFP28 transceivers installed or bag them with the switch, and include both power supplies and all fan modules. Cisco optics have a resale market of their own, and we quote them as part of the lot rather than ignoring them.

What to send for a quote

  • Exact model for each switch, from the label or from show inventory, and how many of each.
  • Whether the switches ran in ACI or NX-OS mode.
  • Optics, power supplies and fan modules included.
  • Condition, whether the switches are still racked, and the location, including any colocation facility.
  • Photos of the front, the rear and the labels with serial numbers.

Why used Nexus 9300 switches still move

The Nexus 9300 is the standard leaf switch of the Cisco data center, and organizations that run Cisco expand fabrics, replace failed units and keep spares. A tested used 93180YC-FX at a fraction of the new price is the obvious buy for them, and for the service providers and labs that build fabrics from used gear. That steady demand is what lets us make a firm offer on your switches.

Where we buy

Data centers, colocation facilities, hospitals, schools, government offices and businesses across the United States, and overseas sites that are refreshing to newer equipment. A decommission is a project, not a pickup: we plan the sequence, label and palletize on site, arrange freight, and keep a record of what left the building. IO South has offices in Marietta, Georgia and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Why sell your Nexus 9300 switches to IO South

IO South is an established enterprise IT hardware company that buys and resells Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches, Cisco UCS servers, Fortinet and Aruba networking, and data center GPUs every day. Hundreds of Cisco units move through our Marietta, Georgia and Cincinnati, Ohio facilities, which is why we can tell you what a 9336C-FX2 is worth this week and stand behind the number. One offer, one pickup, configurations wiped, freight paid.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Nexus 9300 models do you buy?

The current FX and FX2 and FX3 fixed switches such as the 93180YC-FX, 93108TC-FX, 93240YC-FX2, 9336C-FX2, 93360YC-FX2, 93216TC-FX2 and the GX series, and the earlier first-generation units such as the 9372PX, 9372TX, 9396PX, 9396TX, 93120TX and 93128TX. Send the exact model from the label and we tell you what has a resale offer.

Do you buy Nexus 9300 switches that were running in ACI mode?

Yes. We buy switches from both ACI fabrics and standalone NX-OS deployments. Tell us which mode they ran in. We reset every switch to factory defaults, which clears the configuration either way.

Do you buy a single Nexus switch or only full fabrics?

Both. One 93180YC-FX from a closed rack is a normal purchase. So is a full leaf-and-spine fabric. Quantity affects the offer, not whether we make one.

Do you buy the optics, fans and power supplies with the switch?

Yes. Include the QSFP and SFP transceivers, the fan modules and both power supplies. Complete switches resell faster, and Cisco optics have their own resale value, so we quote them as part of the lot.

What about the Cisco licenses?

Licenses stay with you or with Cisco, and we make no promise about transferring them. We buy the hardware. Tell us if the switch had a DCNM, ACI or NX-OS feature license so the next owner knows what to expect.

Can you pick up from a colocation facility?

Yes. Tell us the site and whether the switches are still racked. We coordinate with the facility, send a rep to palletize and wrap for larger lots, and arrange the freight.

Do you buy Nexus 9300 switches from outside the United States?

Yes. IO South buys from businesses across the United States and from data centers overseas. Send the location with your list and we include freight and import handling in the plan.

Do you also sell Nexus 9300 switches?

Yes. IO South sells tested used and new Cisco Nexus switches. Browse the Cisco Nexus category for current stock, or ask by email for a specific model.
